Expedia, Inc Rich Media Guidelines Submitting Rich Media Ads We allow rich media within our skyscrapers, banners and medium rectangles. Please see our resource kit for information on specific ad units. We also support certain expandable banners. Please ZIP all necessary files and FTP (link to FTP site) them to Expedia at least five full days before the campaign launches. Flash - Specifications For all locally served Flash ads, please add the specific Flash click tag requirement & required code via actionscript: Open in a new browser (Link Off): on (release) { getURL (clickTAG, "_blank"); } Open in the existing browser (Link In): on (release) { getURL (clickTAG) }   Add action scripting to the button (not the frame)   Add invisible button to the first layer of the .fla file   Please keep frame rate between 12 & 18 fps. Expedia recommends 15 fps.   Client must submit both .swf, .fla and back up .jpg files. All files submitted must be saved as flash version 8.0. Fonts must be rasterized within the .fla file.   In order to record user clicks on Flash creative in the ad serving system used by Expedia, the client is required to submit the original .fla file. Expedia will insert click tracking code into the .fla file if the client is unable to. (This process does not affect the appearance or the functionality of the Flash creative. The .fla file is an editable Flash file. This file preserves the information that the developer used to create the Flash file. The .fla file can only be used in the Flash authoring environment and cannot be displayed on a Web page.)   15 kilobyte initial download, and up to four additional download streams upon user click are permitted. Each additional stream may not exceed 50 kilobyte.   Please submit an image (JPG or GIF) to be served in case the user does not have flash installed. The kilobyte size for the static image should be the same as the kilobyte restriction for a normal image ad of the same size and shape.   Audio must be one click away.   The following tags should not be included the ad unit code: <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> <META> <BODY> Supported third party rich media partners We currently support PointRoll, DART Motif and Atlas Rich Media. If you're interested in using another third party, please let us know so we can continue to improve our services. Expedia rich media products Expedia allows rich media within our skyscrapers, banners and medium rectangles. We also allow the following expandable rich media. Expandable (not available in Dcol): Max initial download is 40k. Additional 100k on click.   Creative may expand to as large as 468x240 in response to a user mouseover or click of the banner.   If the expansion is triggered by a mouseover, the expansion must close upon mouseoff. If the expansion is triggered by a click, the expansion must include a clearly labelled button or link to close the expansion.   Main creative must include some copy that indicates "Click on this Ad to expand and see more..." (or some similar message).   If panels include tabs, mouse-overs may only be functional at the width and height of the individual tabs. The panels must not extend beyond the width of the banner.   Expanded layers must "rollup" on a mouse-off, mouse-out event, or when user clicks a clearly labelled "close" button.   Any audio/video stream must be initiated by user click and should display a visible "stop" or "pause" button once the audio/video begins. Audio must cease at the end of the banner's presentation.   No fourth party serving.   Default JPG/GIF required
